Today I’m running a little sewing giveaway!
I’ve had the pleasure of receiving a new sewing machine recently and with the summer holidays and actual holidays I’ve barely had a minute to have a proper look at it *shame face*.
One thing I do know is that it does button holes!! After shying away from buttonholes this machine will, hopefully, open up a wider world of sewing for me. Have a look at the really reasonably sewing machines at Hobbycraft- the one I’ve been sent is the first one listed, I’ll let you know how I get on with it in a future post.
My little red John Lewis sewing machine is great and it’s going to take a lot for me to move on from it but a few more gizmos to play with would be nice as I develop my sewing skill set- so I’m looking forward to giving this new one its first project.
I haven’t sewn much over the summer, apart from finishing The Afternoon Blouse, I’ve attempted to make a jumpsuit, but at the moment I’ve fallen out with it so it’s sat in my sewing cupboard. Yes a full on unfinished project- I’m still mildly gutted and very frustrated with it so it’s going to stay there for a bit longer- there was just sooo much fabric to work with and trying it on a fitting it to myself was just a pain in the bum.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings, what can you win?!!
I’ve had a bit of a sewing pattern destash and I’m also including this sewing book from the 70’s, which is actually very good on technique and how to adjust patterns so they fit your body shape.
So this is the prize, a couple of the patterns have been cut but the Butterick Retro Blouse is uncut, the Vogue pattern behind it on the right has been cut but has no markings on the paper- I think that is how they were then- correct me if I’m wrong please!
Close up’s of the sewing patterns follow.
Hope this gets your creative juices flowing!
UK residents only please
