Outfit post- Museum Morning a new Joules dress

Hi there readers! Today I’m sharing an outfit post with you as I’ve bought a couple of things recently that I hope are going to be wardrobe staples (instead of frivolous purchases!!).

We went to Manchester Museum recently on a family morning out. It’s one of my favourite places to go in the city and I’ve been coming here since I was a small child, its full of artefacts, dinosaurs and Victorian taxidermy and has some great hands on stuff too.

The building really captures the imagination and I got Mr OFS to take these shots for me around the back of the museum where there are some equally old and interesting buildings that form part of the university. I’m particularly taken with this doorway from 1909.

My boots a biker style from New Look. They aren’t leather but I bought them mainly for the school run (actually a 10 min walk) and they are really comfy. I look for the Holy Grail of knee high boots every year- these arent them but they are close and in my budget.

My coat is the Festival Parka from Boden which I bought before we went on holiday to Wales a few months ago. It got well used! *I think they are now out of stock of this though 🙁

My dress is the Thurwell Stripe from Joules. I’ve been after some day dresses for a while and after trial and error with the A-Line tunic shape I found this one. The nipped in waist suits my shape much more than the sixties A-Line shapes- which actually make me look bigger than I am. Joules seem to do a few in this shape and I can see me investing in some more.
