I was asked by Oak Furniture to choose something from their range and create a style ideas board around my chosen piece of furniture.
We are actually looking for a desk for my eldest daughter at the moment so I thought it fitting to take a look at their desks to see what they had to offer..
I chose the Provence Oak Dressing Table and went with my daughters current flamingo wallpaper as inspiration.
She has just turned six and isn’t massively into pink but she does have a soft spot for it like many girls. So I thought I’d run with it as an accent colour on white which is pretty much how her room is now.
The addition of a desk like this would make her room feel very grown up, so keeping the youthful feeling by using pink works for me.I chose this desk come dressing table as it has elegant, slim legs and doesn’t look too modern, much more a classic shape that wouldn’t date.
I would add some shelves above the desk onto the wall, and organise my daughters vast array of reading books and colouring books. I’d treat her to a new little radio from VQ like the one I have in Mustard downstairs (see here).
I love these Flamingo lights, I’m pretty sure these are an American product so would need an adapter, but these would look so good hanging from the shelves, or just from a couple of command hooks on the wall.
I bought a load of the paper honeycomb balls recently and I love how they bring an element of fun to a room. I know these are just decorations but I’d like to put up a bunch of these permanently in my eldest’s room. I’m sure she’d love it too!Sign up for my Creative Notes Letters, a personal letter to my readers.
