Green shoots of vintage

Despite the economic times being rather depressing there is a flurry of vintage shops opening up this month.

Donald & Miss June Macclesfield– Yes despite this DMJ Vintage not being in Greater Manchester we thought this was worth a special mention as we know their stock of vintage mid century furniture is always of the highest quality. And Macclesfield is a lovely town for a day trip especially when the famous Treacle Market is on. Find Donald & Miss June at 33 Church Street, opening on 26th January 2013.

J’adore Vintage, 441 Bury New Rd, Prestwich. Winners of Best Vintage Clothing shop at last years awards the girls at J’adore have achieved one of their goals by opening a shop! Expect vintage clothing with an edge- lots of denim, leather and lace. They are having a champagne evening soiree to celebrate on 24th January.

Vibrant Vintage 2-4 Wilbraham Street, Westhoughton, Bolton, BL5 3RA. Victoria Claire and the team behind Vibrant Vintage opened a shop full of vintage treasures on the 12th January- we’ve not been yet but knowing what delights are always on their stalls we know we’d leave the shop with lots of goodies. Well worth a trip and do let us know if you visit.

I’m really looking forward to DMJ opening. I live in Macclesfield and it has a lovely little vintage ‘scene’. I like to think of it as an extension to Manchester 😉 and it’s only a short train ride away.
