Current Instagram Favourites- Top Five

September 3, 2015Susan

Hey there! How is September treating you?

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favourite Instagram accounts.

Its the second time I’ve done this so I suppose it could be called a new series? The last Instagram favourites was nearly a year ago though so perhaps I should do this more often.

Leave your Instagram handle in the comments if you like and I’ll pop over and check you out.

First up is debbiekondas who is Manchester based and uses 35mm film on her feed as well as regular digital photography. I love her eye for detail and the framing in her shots. I also love how many of her images are of places I know but seen through her eyes.

There’s a huge amount of photography talent over on Instagram; only.ange captures the light so well. Her images are simple but full of light, landscapes and  the textures found in nature and architecture. Truly beautiful and another Manchester based ‘grammer.

Another Northern UK based account, Jen has relocated from Scotland to Yorkshire and her Instagram feed is so lovely. She makes me want to visit all the places she photographs, I think we’ve got similar taste. Find her at jenlittlebirdie, Jen also has a beautiful blog well worth a visit.jenlittlebirdie instagram

Next up is a clever and quirky account called foundandchosen. Gathering things into collections, its a real feast for the eyes. Tying together colour and nostalgia (two of my favourite things) its well worth you following- I guarantee you’ll see something you’ve once owned or perhaps still do?

Last but not least is thisisjules who is another Yorkshire type- I guess Yorkshire is so photogenic! She uses Instagram as a micro-blogging platform, sharing moments from her day and scenes out and about in Yorkshire and at home. How good is the seagull capture below!

I love finding new instagram accounts that inspire me to up my game a little bit. I am by no means a photographer, and I wouldn’t really want to add that to my ever growing list of hobbies, but I do love capturing moments from my days and really making the most of them for instagram and of course my blog too. When I look at some of my old posts which were badly shot and badly filtered I do cringe a little bit, but I also like that I can see how I have accidentally developed that skill, even just a little!

I was lucky enough, over a coffee, to have a little one-to-one crash course in Instagram from jenlittlebirdie. I doubt I’ll ever be anywhere near as good as her but her photos are such an inspiration!
