writing playlists

Woah, hey! It’s been a while, hasn’t it!

Dark Is The Water is out in the world now creeping around readers’ bedside tables or haunting their e-readers.

I wanted to share the playlist I used whilst I wrote most of the horror tales in Dark Is The Water. Perhaps you could listen whilst reading!

This is a playlist I created myself…

Horror Writing Playlist

I use instrumental music to write as I find lyrics very distracting.

Here are two more playlists you might enjoy if you like the one above. These have been curated by other Spotify users.

Secret Things Playlist

Occult Ritual Music Playlist

I’m also getting into Binaural Beats. These are auditory illusions (google it!) and can help with focus or even falling asleep. Spotify has its own playlist which is an excellent place to start if you want to experiment with this. You need to listen with headphones to get the whole experience.

  1. I don’t usually listen to music whilst I write, today was the first time I did, so seeing this post is really interesting! I searched ‘Writing’ on apple music and Writing Music 2022 came up. I only had it on low, so it wasn’t distracting – not sure if it helped or not though!

  2. ooh! Just started to listen, and that first story, … !!
