Holiday Reading and a Real Life Catch-Up

Greetings friends and readers, this post originally appeared as an email to my subscribers. If you like to sign up please click here.

I hope this finds you well and taking the reopening of the world at your own pace.

There’s been loads going on here again. I’ve not really stopped since we moved house, just over a month ago. Read last months email here.

My cat, Bill, has been very poorly. We thought we were going to loose him very quickly a couple of weeks ago. The crux of his diagnosis is that he has lymphoma. It’s not the low grade cell kind, which can go into remission. It’s not completely high grade either, but it has caused his lymph nodes to be huge. We are starting treatment and we’ll just have to see how he handles it.

Read this post about Billy if you fancy!

Because of what’s been going on/real life, I’ve not done any promo of my novel for ages.

To remedy this I’ve dropped the price of the ebook to 99p 🎉

This is currently on Amazon ebook only. The paperback has also been dropped a little in price by Amazon themselves.

I’d love it if you were able to buy Earthly Bodies at this price. If you take your e-reader on holiday then please share and tag a photo of the book in whatever location you are in.

Also for those of you wondering, yes I’m double jabbed.

There’s no judgement here if you’ve chosen not to get vaccinated, I ask that you are extra careful though… Wear a damn mask!

I was listening to the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio Two recently and the topic was whether we should still be wearing masks. Because, yet again, the messaging is vague and noncommittal.

That’s the Tories not wanting to be held to account. (For those of you outside the UK I know you have similer situations).

Anyway, there were some irate folk on Jeremy’s show. Not wanting to wear masks ever again… For me, it’s a piece of fabric. That’s all. It’s not handcuffs or chains which is what you’d have thought these people were discussing.

I was trying not to judge as I listened, as I have no idea what these people have been through, but it felt like they had no sense of the privilege they live with in order for it even to be a choice.

We must take responsibility for our own health and wellbeing, and for the communities we live in. The Tories have proven over and over again that they are disconnected from the general population and what is happening on the ground. We cannot trust them. We are still in a worldwide pandemic.

If you cant wear a mask for health reasons, I get it. I’m not having a go. All the more reason for everyone else to wear one.

Rant over. 😉

Have a lovely August. I hope you get some rest and some hazy, slow days… That’s certainly my plan!

PS- I have a short story coming out in an anthology soon. Will share more info when I have it. But the contributors are all brilliant writers under the broad spectrum of horror. I’m really excited to be a part of it.

I would love your input
