Spring is here now, (thank goodness!) and for many of us it is a chance to get out into the garden and enjoy the outdoors again.
Our garden is large, but has taken a back seat on our To Do list. There are things which are of a higher priority to work on (and in) the house itself. We don’t have an unlimited budget, so the garden has taken a hit really in terms of our time, and what we can spend on it.
In one corner of the garden I want to create a focal point that is away from the house and patio area. My idea is to create a nook, almost a hideaway. I think an arbour would be perfect for this.

I love the idea of having an arbour or similar structure in the garden. Something away from the hustle and bustle of the house, in a sunny spot in our outside space. I could easily spend and hour or two with a G&T and a book somewhere like that, couldn’t you?.
The garden needs an overhaul without a doubt. I find jobs like this can get overwhelming though so I like to break them down into achievable chunks. And getting something like this set up in one corner would really give it a boost.
This outdoor seating area below completely transformed Kimberly’s garden. Not an arbour but a pergola, a gorgeous space nonetheless.
I’m going to share some of my garden plans with you here on the blog soon, I’ve drawn up plans I just need to scan them in (yes I’m old school, and still use paper and pencil).
Here’s an arbour from Amanda’s blog, I love the paint job she had done on it and it really creates a focal point in the garden. Perhaps using a corner that has just been forgotten about.
Do you have any plans for your garden this season? Do tell me in the comments!

You are so good at reinventing trends!!!! These look lovely and I like the fact they don’t take up too much garden space! X

An arbour looks like a great idea, it’s not something I’d thought of before.
