As promised I going to share with you every source for our bathroom makeover.
If there’s anything I miss off, do let me know!
I’ve said already that we didn’t do it ourselves, we used a local company which project managed the whole thing for us. I didn’t have to source different tradesmen/women it was all in-house so to speak. If you are local to me (South Manchester/Cheshire) then do check out Bathroom Installation Services which are based in Wilmslow. We found them really down to earth and professional, and they did a fab job. (FYI no collab’s here, we paid in full for the service)
Remember my inspiration? I think we stayed on track, I just need more plants…
Some of the elements of the bathroom were supplied by our installers, but much of it I sourced myself and collaborated with Bathroom Takeaway and Tile Mountain on some items too. I’ll include a link where possible so you can take a look at the product more closely.
Bathroom Takeaway are also offering 10% off for my readers using the code SUSIE10, perfect if you are about to start a bathroom renovation.
So lets begin, I’m marking with an * anything I’ve received as a gift/collaboration;
The shower curtain pole* and sockets* are from the brilliant and ever helpful Paul at Simplified Building. (detail shot in the video below) I totally stole this idea from the fabulous Kimberley and her bathroom makeover at Swoonworthy. We both aren’t keen on shower screens, and with a curtain, you can update the look of your bathroom really easily.
The shower curtain was £5 in the sale at John Lewis, and is now out of stock- sorry!
Our new bigger bath* is this one from Bathroom Takeaway. I was so pleased that despite our small dimensions the redesign managed to give us space for a bigger bath- it makes so much difference.
The old-fashioned bath taps* are also from Bathroom Takeaway. These make me very happy (never thought I’d say that about a pair of taps!)
The shower* is, you guessed it, also from Bathroom Takeaway. It is much more powerful than our previous shower and soooo much better looking.
Onto the tiles*, I knew exactly what I wanted – a subway/underground tile without a bevelled edge (I think they are more timeless). I found these beauties at Tile Mountain. Perfect! I wanted to make a feature of the tiles so we went for an anthracite-coloured grout to really make them stand out. We also had the bath tiled in, I think it gives a stronger vintage vibe, plus I hate bath panels!
The toilet was supplied by our fitters (I chose it obviously!) my two big things for the loo were no pipes on show and the minimum amount of projection from the wall possible. I’m pretty sure its this one.
The washstand, basin and basin tap is all Ikea- I fell for the organisational, functional design but also the fact that the basin definitely has a vintage feel to it. Win-win! The perfect mix of old and new.
The mirror cabinet is also Ikea! I really wanted an alternative lighting option, and this cabinet has strips of LED’s built in, great for a relaxing level of light whilst enjoying a bath.
The flooring was recommended, supplied and fitted by our installers, it’s like a cross between lino, vinyl and laminate. It’s all sealed into place- and I cannot remember the name of the brand. Will try and find this out, but we are really happy with it
The towel rail/radiator* is the last product from Bathroom Takeaway and it really pushes the vintage vibe into the room- I love it! It is this one and we also got the valves* to go with it.
The window now has an etched look film* on which gives a bit more privacy than just having the patterned glass. This is Epsom from Purlfrost. In the video below there’s a small section of me actually applying it to the window. I love Purlfrost- I’ve used it before here if you fancy a look.
The Chevron hand-towel, apothecary bottles and vintage dish are all Dunelm.
There are still a few bits we need to finish off, like the door frame, soap dispenser and a loo roll holder but we are over the moon.
Do have a look at the video below, I’d been waiting for ages for the daylight to be strong enough to be able to do one, so just had to seize the opportunity today.
It’s not my best and I totally should’ve cleaned the mirror beforehand- but y’know time/daylight and I like to keep it real around here!

I would love your input
