the x-files is back on TV and I cant wait!

Where I profess my love for the X-Files

Today I just wanted to share my excitement about the X-Files coming back onto TV, an actual new series (all be it a mini one).new xfiles mulder and scully

When I first heard about the Mulder and Scully reunion I almost couldn’t believe it, I’ve been a huge fan of the X-Files since it was first on TV in the 90s. Back then I was the perfect age to watch and understand it but still get a bit spooked occasionally.

I’ve since rewatched every single episode, and both of the films as an adult. Yes, my darling husband bought me the boxed set a couple of years ago, and we watched them together. Luckily he loves it as much as I do.

I’ve even got some of the X-Files merchandise, including an X-Files map of (North America) all the cases in seasons 1-3, where they were and a mini synopsis of the case/episode. In fact its making me want to watch it all over again!the x-files is back on TV and I cant wait!

For me the X-Files was the perfect marriage of interesting science and paranormal stuff, and the whole relationship between Mulder and Scully. The characters are so well developed by the writers on the show and it must of been such a great show to work on…

This blooper reel never fails to make me laugh. Its also from what I think is the heyday of the X-Files, seasons 1-5. Believe me, having watched them all, there are some real turkeys in the later seasons.

Luckily on this new mini series Chris Carter has brought back writers and characters from the earlier seasons so I’m sure it’s going to be great.

Are you an X-Files fan? Did you have a favorite episode?

I think my top three episodes would be;

  1. “Humbug”- Season 2, episode 20. The sideshow performer/freak show episode
  2. “3”- Season 2, episode 7. Scully is missing so Mulder hooks up with a female vampire.
  3. “The Host” also Season 2, episode 2. A cross between a human and a leech which uses the sewers as a home.

X-Files starts on Channel 5 at 9pm on 8th February, will you be watching?

  1. I’m a huge fan, and have some of the companion books, and map somewhere. I loved “Small Potatoes” Season 4, “Arcadia” season 6, and “How the Ghosts Stole Christmas” Season 6.

  3. Eeee, so excited you’re a fan too Sus! I really struggle to pick just 3 episodes as faves – I love so many of them – but probably, if pushed, I’d go for Bad Blood, Squeeze and Hollywood A.D… or PMP, or Detour, or Quagmire, or… !!! xx
