Pantone Colour (s) of the year 2016

Hello! Today I wanted to share with you some fun news. Pantone have released their Colour of the Year for 2016, but this year it’s actually two colours…

Pink and Blue or, Rose Quartz and Serenity. The idea being that they can be used together harmoniously…pantone rose quartz and serenity 2016It just so happens that I have been lusting after decorating our bedroom in pink with and accent colour of blue. So personally for me this colour combo gets a huge thumbs up.

Pantone go into lots of details on their site as to why these colours were chosen together.

I find these colours for me evoke memories of childhood, the whole pink and blue thing. I was never a huge lover of pink alone but with blue it really brings a smile to my face. Pantone talk about the calming effect these colours have when combined and I have to agree. Perfect for a bedroom then!rose quartz and serenityImage from La Boheme

What do you think of pink and blue together?

To me they look so fresh together, so happy and unpolluted. As you can probably tell I’m a big fan.rose quartz velvet chairImage from Artnau

I styled some hydrangeas that I’d dried in a vintage pink jug on my famous blue Formica table, just as a quick ode to blue and pink together in the home. I now just need to organise decorating the bedroom.

  1. Oooh I love these colours together, but I’m afraid Mr W wouldn’t… Maybe I’ll have to use them in my study 😉
